Exploring Our Anger
Yesterday we began to discuss our emotions and how to understand ourselves better all in an attempt to boost confidence and self-esteem. Today we are going to be focusing on exploring our anger.
Anger is often thought of as a negative emotion. I don’t necessarily think it is a bad or negative emotion but the things we do while angry can be. We often are angered by some type of injustice in our lives. When we are angry we are motivated enough to change something or correct something in your life that is not working for you.
Sometimes, however, our anger is just a mask for feelings of hurt, sadness, or loneliness. It is much easier to be angry then to be vulnerable and exhibit those other feelings.
It is important to get to the root of what is truly angering you. It is easy to allow the anger to gather within ourselves and by coping in this way we begin to harbor resentment and hostility. After awhile those feelings reach a boiling point and we will often snap and create havoc over something trivial and unimportant.
Explore today those feelings of anger and resentment. Seek resolution and peace for these feelings. It is impossible to move forward if we are carrying the emotional baggage of the past. Free yourself of those feelings, so you may move forward free of the hinderances of anger and resentment.
